'Go local or go home' could be the artsy darlings' motto on recession and London's unaffordable places-to-rent. Multi-culti Brixton village is the place to be on a Saturday morning. Whilst wandering from mouth-watering fruits and greens selection to vintage treasure-hunting, from lazy coffee sipping to dead-hip hair cuts' indulging in, you might notice oddities and obscurities going on. Young dynamic artists come up with a different concept every Saturday, grab their bric-a-brac and drama-like costumes and make do as any free-spirited travelling circus would just for the sake of it. Only, this is forthcoming creative London!
Last Saturday's theme was "Singing and Fashion" and Per/forms team did some dance-shots in & out of Brixton's lilliputian fashion stores. (Photos featuring Anna Martinou and Kalia Malia presenting DISPLAYME@Leftovers, Margot Waggoner's store)
Read more here and stay tuned for more sunny (!) Saturdays to come
Inspired :)
