Modrec @ London: Saturday, July 3rd

At the school of Modrec, class rules are as follows: "You've got to be a rebellious persona and you've got to rock your own beliefs". You've probably got to not do your homework and studiously skip double maths, or else get detention, too. Or take off your bra and throw it on stage like some girl actually did in their live concert at Stavros tou Notou live club in Athens a few months ago.

For what is the point of Modrec if not a whole heap of doing 'in spite of' things and not being afraid of being afraid? Resplendent in sentiment, their post-punk math-rock alternative sounds with an essence of grunge makes you feel like you want to be their secret love affair going mad with dark romanticism...

When Modrec are on stage they are original and fresh and exciting and as wild as wild can be, like if it were the last day school. Only, this is late-teen professionalism, leading the Greek Indie culture into another level...

On Saturday, July 3rd Modrec will rock it off @ Monto Water Rats Theatre, London. 6 quid if you purchase your ticks in advance, 8 if you buy them on the spot and we have 5 invitations to give away for the first of you to comment!

Their latest album 'Mascaraddiction' was released in April 2010 and we are totally falling for its Tim Burton - like artwork...
